Got the butterflies in my stomach. Hoping Space Buddha won't stop me from running tonight's adventure. Had this story in my head for 10 years and tried to adapt it and run it 3 other times without success. Wish me luck.

This morning I arrive at the North Quincy T station around 7:35. There had been a train sitting there for at least 5 minutes, I had seen that while on the bus and stuck in traffic. I get to the platform and see that the train is completely packed, not a single space for anybody to get on. Over the speaker I hear a female voice say:

"The train at North Quincy is being delayed due to a disabled train behind it."

Let me repeat that:

"The train at North Quincy is being delayed due to a disabled train behind it."

How does a disabled train behind a working train cause it to be delayed from moving forward?

To make matters funnier? They try to empty an outbound train to Braintree for all the people at North Quincy. After sitting on the train a minute they tell us they can't figure out how to make it go in reverse.

He's been 21 for the past 52 years. Today, I turn 27 for the sixth time. When I turned 28, it didn't feel like anything had changed so I stayed 27. Been that way ever since.

Jacoby, my computer, is suffering from a dying video card. Luckily, my experiences with Dell customer service have been great and this time has been no different. Unfortunately my on site warranty expired last month, but I still have the ship back to Dell warranty. So, some time next week I will be without computer except during work hours while Dell swaps out the motherboard.

I just hope my PS2 still works. :P

A crime meme stolen from [info]knowthyself

If you saw me being hauled away in a police car, what would you think I got arrested for?

Answer me, then if you want, post to your own journal and see how many crimes you get accused of.

...and lived to tell the tale.

For Halloween I dressed up as Captain Hammer from Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. The outfit was pretty easy except for the gloves. I wanted something as close to the source material as possible and found a set of gloves (http://www.e-findgifts.com/servlet/the-339/motorcycle-gloves-black-leather/Detail) I thought was perfect and an online store, the Leather Landing based in Texas, that seemed to be very well reviewed.

How wrong I was. )

Maybe I've seen Black Belt Jones too often, but this seems like all those movies and tv shows where somebody influences the real estate market to buy up cheap property to sell it back somewhere else at a profit.

I don't update often, and usually it's for stupid things when I do. This will probably qualify. I had Twinkie ice cream last night at herrell's ice cream in harvard square. I think I found a flavor that can compete with cake batter ice cream.

...please walk, do not run, to the illuminated exit signs and follow them out of the building.

What happens if one of those signs is the cause of the fire?

I guess you go to the other ones because that happened today when an exit sign on the third floor of our building shorted out and set off the fire alarm. I think that's the definition of irony and kinda funny.

Annoying things have been happening to me recently but good things have come from them. It's like that old Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode with the cursed Krusty doll.

For example:

Last Thursday a third attempt to begin the final 2-3 episode arc of the Serenity Game I'm in was attempted. Space Buddhe denied us again as a member had to go to a last minute meeting for work. That's bad. Going to a bar afterwards we discussed possbile other games and I may very well be running a Deadlands game for that group come August. That's good.

Yesterday, the power in my building kinda went off twice, lights went dim and fans and A/C wouldn't work. That's bad. National Grid fixed them within an hour. That's good. The second power outage fried my TV so it doesn't work at all anymore. That's bad. It pushes up my plans to replace it with a high def flat screen tv that I will be purchasing tonight with the help of [info]xartofnothingx. That's good.

Right before my annual review the building I work in had a fire alarm go off. That's bad. I got a nice raise after my review. That's good. Neither one here has anything to do with the other, I'm just happy about my review and raise.

Today, one of our clients said she got her carpet custom made to match her curtains. Honest to God! I fought the urge to laugh out loud at that, because I didn't want to explain it to my female coworkers, but I had to share this. It made my day.

The bus home was late so I caught it and got home at 5:30 today instead of 6. Work on the other hand was non-stop phone calls from 8:15 until 4:30. And the rest of the week looks to be the same since the Office Manager is out of the office for vacation the rest of the week. So yeah, I got that going for me.

Please Note: I may take a while to answer.

A long weekend, but a fulfilling weekend.

Friday was a very slow workday and I spent the evening watching Deadwood with some friends. We're only 4 episodes into Season 3 and things are already tense in the booming frontier town. Overall it's been a great series and full of the swearing you expect from HBO. Barely a minute goes by without somebody uttering, "cock sucker."

Saturday I spent the afternoon making Pumpkin Cake for Sunday's Easter dinner at [info]dictator555's aunt's place. More on that later. That evening was spent eating delicious Indian food at Shilimar of India in Central Square with The Monica, [info]dianamp04, [info]xartofnothingx and their friend AlternaMike. I had the meat sampler dinner and all the meats were delicious. Then we went and had drinks at the Middle East and Asgard before heading back to Amanda & Diana's place so we could leave early for Easter dinner in North Brookfield.

Easter dinner is always fun with Jess' family. There's all the delicious food, and the pumpkin cake was enjoyed by all and more recipes have been e-mailed out. Someday in the far future the Pumpkin Cake will replace Pumpkin Pie as the desert of choice for Thanksgiving. There was no egg hunt this year, but that's okay, seeing as in the annual yankee swap I won

That's right, I got spotted dick for Easter!
